What it is to be seen as ‘boaty’!

Question: What do the following painting, plastic model and illustration have in common?

(above) ‘The Building of Westminster Bridge’ by John Anderson, 1860…

(above) a promotional McDonald’s plastic toy of Tintin and Captain Haddock

(above) an illustration, by John Burningham, from his wonderful children’s book, ‘Mr. Gumpy’s Outing’

Answer: they’ve all been given to me because I’m the (very proud) owner of a new (very old) boat, and have, as one kind soul put it – ‘Gone all boaty again’. I love the way people’s minds work!

Happy Christmas everyone 🙂
