Painting Log (b.) : 29.11.2017

This is a stand-alone painting in the Folk Song series.

It’s at the ‘ugly stage’ when the initial relatively beguiling and simple folkish ‘floral’ image is disrupted and, in many ways, erased by adding a further layer of paint.

It’s done as a provocation, to force me to respond, to make me engage with the image and hopefully ‘haul something back’ by letting the pristine graphicacy go… at this point it feels like a VERY silly idea indeed!
