Painting Log (a.) : 29.11.2017

The three small canvases that form the central ‘spine’ of the Moon Over Common Wood painting distantly reference a Charles Keeping cover on a 1978 copy of a Chatto Poets for the Young series book called Moon-Bells and other poems by Ted Hughes.

The canvases, working title Moon Flowers will have a night-time/Autumnal/full-moon kind of vibe once completed. Or that’s the aim…

Previously undercoated in either red or green, the background for the ‘Moon Flowers’ was the added in white and yellow…
This is the ‘test panel. Three variations of basic flower were tried out.
This is the final ‘base’ design for the flowers. There’s a long way to go yet.
And here we have it in green…
