Painting Log : 02.11.2017

I’m Going Dotty!

I find painting dots, even irregular tatty enamel dots like these, hugely relaxing. The repetitive action soothes me. It calms me down. Anxiety is reduced and a kind of ‘in-the-moment’ restfulness takes over.

This is the backdrop to one of the Folk Songs series of paintings and is the second based on the quilt idea. Exuberance – in terms of painted pattern – is what I’m looking for.
