Painting Log (b.) 14.10.2017

Think bunting, think show ground, think of the primary colours on historic working boats. Here’s the kind of thing I’m talking about…

In this series of paintings I’m pushing colour and pattern-making to the fore.

Today, a snatched 10 minutes enabled another layer of colour to be added to the ‘yellow’ painting. Which moved from this:

to this:

I’m now thinking that the sides of the canvas should be yellow with large red dots… almost the opposite of the flower motif on the front face of the canvas…

I’m not sure where this is taking me, but feel seduced by what’s becoming a colourful journey of discovery.
