An unforeseen ‘hole’…

With the Summer’s ‘Big Plan’ – our extended boat trip – quite literally dead in the water, we’ve been left with a bit of a hole to fill and, with little money available, have by necessity, been working on savouring some of the simpler things of life: sunshine when it fitfully appears, rain too; an evening walk, birdsong, the play of shadows; a cold drink or ice-cream; we’re writing diaries; potting up plants; tidying bedrooms and trying, as best we can, to create a positive, constructive antidote to social media, Roblox Jailbreak or Minecraft – it’s not easy – but I think it’s a worthwhile effort.

ps. the guy in the hat isn’t me but my nephew who’s home-alone in Derbyshire nervously awaiting his A’ level results – good luck to him and all those awaiting results this Summer…
