Progress on plumbing & blacking…

(above) A shot of Great Haywood Marina last Winter. Thankfully, touch wood, this Winter’s been a much milder affair, and it’s enabled another week of good progress in renovating No. 18686 for the new season.

It’s all about plumbing at the moment – the sink in the galley is plumbed in; the pipework to the instantaneous water heater is also plumbed in; the pipework is heading in the direction of the tank in the bow too… so, it’s that tank which’ll be sorted out next.

J. the Workshop seems content that, provided the boat on the hard standing in front of No. 18686 has it’s engine returned this week, he’ll be able to get ours back in the water in readiness for our first trip.

back here in London, the rudder has had a final boat of blacking this evening on one side, and the other side will get a final coat tomorrow night, before it’s loaded into the car on Friday evening for the long trip to Staffordshire on Saturday morning.

I really can’t wait to re-aquaint myself with the boat again.
