Every small decision moves the boat forward

After talking to J. at ‘The Boatyard’ yesterday, it was really reassuring today to receive a call from him today, asking if, in using the big, beautiful brass taps we’d found on the boat, we minded if we lost a cutlery drawer adjacent to the sink and that he’d need to create a false (and non-opening) drawer to allow an access point to the taps and pipework. I agreed. I love this kind of detail and, despite the fact that I’m miles away from the boat, I can still make the simple decisions necessary to help move the boat forward towards our first ‘inlanding’ season.

Thanks to John Burningham for the wonderful illustrations from his children’s book ‘Burka’ that grace this post.
